I am Marius Vernescu, a Romanian jazz pianist with extensive international performance experience and a lifelong passion for improvisation, musical communication and connecting with audiences.
My musical journey began in Romania, where I developed a strong foundation in classical music before discovering jazz and the freedom of improvisation. I later continued my professional jazz studies in Hanover, Germany, an experience that significantly shaped my artistic identity and helped me develop a broad international perspective.
One of the most important milestones of my career was winning First Prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition in 2002. This recognition opened the door to numerous international performances and collaborations and confirmed my commitment to building a professional career in jazz.
