Production Singer: Take Center Stage on the High Seas

What is a Production Singer?
A production singer is a featured vocalist in large-scale musical productions performed on board cruise ships. These shows range from Broadway-style revues and jukebox musicals to fully licensed West End and Broadway productions. Cruise lines are investing heavily in entertainment, meaning singers get the chance to perform in world-class venues with cutting-edge technology, live bands, and professional choreography.
Life as a Cruise Ship Singer
As a production singer, your role is demanding yet rewarding. You’ll typically be part of a resident cast, performing in multiple shows per week. Many contracts begin with a rehearsal period of 4-8 weeks at a land-based facility, such as Royal Caribbean’s state-of-the-art studios in Miami or Disney Cruise Line’s rehearsal base in Toronto. Once on board, you'll go through a final tech install, working with lighting, sound, and orchestra before officially opening your performances to guests.
